For more than 50 years Reminder Publications has been synonymous with community.
We have made our collective livelihood proudly joining you in your home to keep you informed on what is going on in the places you live and work.
It truly is a labor of love.
With that in mind, I’d like to personally welcome you to the newest chapter in the decades-long story of our service to Western Massachusetts. This magazine is part of an effort on our part to get back to our roots by providing hyper-local stories and reporting on the community you care about most – yours.
This publication, which will be in many of your mailboxes monthly and available for pick up at many of your favorite stops around the city, will be your ticket to an inside look at the people, places and happenings that make your community tick. The stories and photos within these pages can also be found at www.remindermagazines.com, the online home of Chicopee Magazine and our three other community monthly publications.
As the editor of these new monthly magazines, I’m excited for the opportunity to serve our existing readership in a new way and look forward to engaging an even newer and broader audience through our fresh new design, in-depth features, bold photography and deeper focus on the population it serves.
Since we’ll be seeing each other a lot from here on out, it’s probably best you get to know a bit about me.
My name may sound familiar to some of you as I have been writing in the local area for the better part of 15 years, originally covering local sports before joining Reminder Publications as a part of the news team in 2011.
I was born and raised in Springfield and spent the vast majority of my life in the city, where I currently make my home with my wife Eileen and our precocious black lab mix Comet. I’m an avid sports fan, hiker and craft beer enthusiast. I’ve been known to make a beer or two of my own when my better half doesn’t mind the kitchen smelling like it for a few days.
Most importantly, Western Massachusetts is my home and I see it as the gem that it is and I look forward to showcasing what makes this area so unique and special. That’s right; I’m talking about all of you.
With that in mind, let me personally extend an invitation to reach out with any story ideas, feedback, questions, or even just a kind word. I can be reached at 525-6661, ext. 123, or chrism@thereminder.com.
For loyal readers of G. Michael Dobbs, fear not; he will be involved in this new publication, contributing entertainment and feature stories. His weekly column will also still be available on the website for our weekly newspaper, www.thereminder.com, and on our Facebook page.
Thank you for welcoming us into your home. We’re excited to be here.
